Seesaws Day Nursery & Nursery School

A personal message from Lady Jayne Ackers – Principal

Welcome to Seesaws – A family of five nurseries with pre and after school clubs and two Holiday Clubs across Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

My late husband Sir James Ackers and I launched Seesaws in 1994, when I was a working mum who wanted the best care for my son Nicky, whom we’d adopted from Romania four years earlier.

Using my skills and qualifications gained from more than 20 years’ teaching Child Development and Home Economics, I drew up plans for a day nursery that would exceed the expectations of even the most discerning parents.

Our first day nursery opened in Wylde Green and since then the business has grown in both size and reputation. We have worked hard to maintain our exacting standards and to offer parents flexible care packages that suit different work patterns

Seesaws is more than just a nursery: it is a place where children thrive and have fun. We believe that happy, contented children mean happy, contented parents.

What Parents Say About Us

  • Brilliant Nursery! My daughters was at the one in Merridale from the age of 8 months untill she left in August this year to go to school. Shes still very upset that she has left and misses all her friends! Brilliant staff and if i have more children this will be the only nursery for me ! Feels like a home from home for my daughter the staff have a very personal relationship with all children and all the kids are like one big family ! I love it hope to see everyone again soon x

  • Absolutely brilliant Elsie loved Seesaws Penn she has come along so much since coming from a shy little girl to a bubbly girl x staff are very friendly and welcoming will definitely be sending our youngest. Elsie will miss staff and friends a lot xx Thank you for looking after Elsie x

  • Seesaws Chester Road is such a wonderful Nursery. My son has improved so much since starting and I couldn't be happier with his progress. The staff are all lovely and so helpful. I feel comfortable leaving him there because I know that he'll be well looked after.

  • Great nursery. I will keep my child on when I am working as I only receive the free 15 hours at this moment in time. My child with some developmental and speech delay has come on brilliantly since starting here too.
